SOMEWHERE IN KASHMIR

Dear Soldier,

During the last few weeks Kashmir has seen choreographed bloodshed, at a scale not witnessed in the recent past. And you, my friend, are in the middle of a media firestorm. They say that you have not exercised adequate restraint. They sit in air-conditioned TV studios and claim that you are a killer.

Over 3000 of your brothers have been injured in the past one-month, some critically. Many have been martyred. No one knows about this because for those who disseminate news, the country is inconsequential and you are expendable.

And this is how they want you to die – unknown, unwept, unsung and unforgiven.

All throughout your training and your service, you were taught that the enemy is across the Line of Control. I am afraid that is no longer true. The LoC has shifted from Kashmir to Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai and to hundreds of towns and cities across India. That is where the new enemy is, our own fifth column.

This enemy does not use guns. He uses social media. He uses lies and half-truths to tarnish your image. He tells common Indians that you, the Indian soldier in Kashmir, are a rapist and a murderer. Are you flabbergasted and heartbroken? Welcome to the new war, my friend, a war without honor and rules of engagement.

The enemy knows that you are undefeatable and so he has decided to break your morale.

You ask me what is this “azaadi” that the Kashmiri separatists want? You say that they have their own flag, their own penal code and their own constitution. What more could anyone want? My friend, they want Kashmir to break away from India and merge with Pakistan. That’s why whenever there is a mob on the streets of Srinagar you will never see a Kashmiri flag. You will only see Pakistani flags and the flags of the Islamic State (ISIS). This is the new reality.

Kashmiriyat died the day the first Kashmiri Pandit was killed in the Valley.

Kashmiri separatists love “funeral politics.” Have you ever wondered why the protestors who are hurt during clashes die when they could have easily been saved? Because Pakistan trained terrorists stop the ambulance midway and don’t allow it to reach the hospital. When the injured person bleeds to death, there is a grand funeral the next day. A new martyr is created out of thin air.

Doctored and fake images of bleeding women and children with pellet wounds are being circulated on social media, and young, gullible Indians are being told, “Look, this is what your army does in Kashmir”.

I am afraid for you because I know your own death cannot break you, but the image of a bleeding 5-year-old child easily can. You are a father, too. They want to break your heart so that you lose the will to fight.

But there is hope. Millions of Indians who were dormant are waking up. They now know the truth. They were scattered earlier. They are uniting now and every day they grow stronger. They may not wear the uniform but they are soldiers in spirit. And when the time comes, they will stand with you till the very end. You are not alone.

Soon, the sun will complete its westward journey. It will soon be time to clean your AK 47, fill your magazines and prime four HE-36 hand grenades. Your company commander is waiting for you. He will give you your mission brief for tonight.

Intelligence sources from Brigade Headquarters have confirmation that there are 5 Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists holed up in a single-storied house on the outskirts of Chowkibal, Kupawara. Your mission is to “neutralize” them.

It is 0300 hrs and a large Chinar tree close to the house is blocking the moonlight. This is the opening that you need. You will ask your buddies to quickly surround the house, blocking all exit routes.

As you stealthily move towards the house with four of your buddies, your rubber-soled boots ensure pin drop silence. You position yourself under a window near the main door, your AK’s fire selector switch now on “automatic” mode. The team’s number two takes out a HE-36 hand grenade and pulls out the pin and starts reverse counting. Five, four, three, two, one…the grenade is lobbed inside, followed by a loud explosion after 4 seconds. You kick the door open and storm the house.

There will be gunfire, smoke, screams and explosions. And then there will be the sweet stench of blood. Tonight, you will kill.

Good luck and happy hunting.

  1. Sir I respect you and the Indian army a lot and I’m truly proud of them , and so are majority of the Indians. But recently I saw posts of a few of Kashmiri s on Facebook. They all unanimously have said that Indian army in Kashmir has engaged in many gang rapes and sudden disappearances and false encounters over the years. Is this all true ? I was really heartbroken to know the allegations they have put on the army.

    1. There are some cases of human rights violations, but those people have been punished. Many are in jail. I don’t want to generalise but most Kashmiris talk without any proof. They hear someone saying something and that becomes the word of God. I request you to have faith in the Indian Army. We are not only a powerful army. We are a moral army. All these are tactics to break our resolve.
Kashmiris live in a democracy and that’s why they say all this. Please do not believe such false propaganda. It’s paid for and sponsored by Pakistan.

      1. I fully agree with Major Arya…In best of Professional armies there rae some elements who do damage but to a very arge extent Indian army has values and are really very very helpful to citizens while making scarifices that can not be measured be it North East, Kashmir, Maoist Area or Earthquake or Uttrakhand floods , their imprints leave lot of goodwill and gratitude.. You also need to be aware of fcat that nti natioanl elements in Kashmir like Gilani alongwith Pakistan have vested interest in maligning Indian Army as Indian Army is apolitical whereas Pak Army is major occupier of even Pkaistan having violated their democratic constitution…Also remember that Sheikh abdulla was stuffing ballaot boxes , Farukh was corrupt and PDP was too appeasing terrorists..Ynder these conditions, Indian Army has done wonderful job withput loosing sanity ..Just imagie Pak Army or Turkish Army ..They woyld have simply carried out genocide as is evident from Bangladesh war when Pak army killed about 20 million BANGLADESHIS !

      2. Battle related incidents happen anywhere and everywhere. As far as Indian forces are concerned, they are more professional and more value oriented as compared to those of the so-called developed nations. Look at the trail of rapes and bloodshed that have been left behind by forces of US, UK etc once they attacked Afghanistan, Iraq etc. Look at the way they treat prisoners of war as compared to the almost humane manner in which the Indian Army treats captured terrorists. Media is only interested in highlighting the one blemish while conveniently ignoring the ten thousand times when the Army has risen to the occasion. As Maj Arya puts it clearly, today, the battlefields have shifted hundreds of miles inside the LOC to TV studios and presses of newspapers who are only interested in highlighting gory details of one small often innocuous incident.
The way Barkha Dutt was caught hobnobbing with the victims of pellet guns in hospital was therefore on completely expected lines. She did not dare ask that one relevant question which would have reduced all their attention-seeking antics to zilch – What were they doing outside when there was a curfew in place. More important, what were small children doing that they had to face pellets. Would any of the Fiberals here explain which mother / father is willing to let his child face even semi-lethal weapons just to create martyrs. That is possible only in Kashmir where Pakistan pumped money is more than paying for their misfortunes. And if one child dies, they are more than capable of producing another ten more. They care not for their well being. All they need is more cannon fodder. That is the harsh reality.
Irony was when the same people who were pelting stones were begging for help with folded hands during the Kashmir floods from the same “oppressors”. What happened to their ideology then? It would have been so easy for the Army to ignore their appeals, after having been a victim of continued biased propaganda for so many years now. Irony actually died a thousand deaths when the Army even rescued the very villains of the current plot, the euphemistically called separatists too.
Stop tarnishing these noble souls. They are all India have right now and they deserve every support they can deserve.

      3. It is truly very kind of you to ‘request’ us have faith in the Indian Army.
But I think Major, every Indian is bound not only to have faith but also greatest respect, regard and reverence for the Indian Army. This is the least, we as citizens of India can do for you.

We should understand that ‘One need not join the Indian Army to conduct atrocities in Kashmir’. They leave their families, friends and everything that they could have relished at such a young age and go ahead to tell us ‘We are here to safeguard India, you can sleep peacefully!’ Indians cannot afford to even have a pinch of doubt on our Army personnel.

If there are violations at certain situations, govt. will make sure that those responsible are punished, but we should think about the ones who genuinely fight for our country, when we talk about Indian Army.

        Salute to Indian Army..

    Please note
Your task at hand is to make sure that the state of J&K is brought to peace at any cost
Do not worry about the “pseudo Secular” , “The Doves” or the “Press-titutes” we will handle them
Your objective is to maintain the integrity of this nation and if it demands blood ? do not hesitate to pull the trigger . No Human rights, no nothing , no nonsense just focus on the task we will protect and stand with you on all the interior fronts, we are your second line of defense.
Use the pallet gun as much as you want, do not think you are shooting an innocent person, because if he/she was innocent he must be studying in his class, working on his job or staying at his home. Since he is not, he is everything but “innocent” standing in front line of a hostile mob and in range of your weapon makes him a target so just don’t think and just pull the damn trigger.
you are not answerable for AFSPA or anything because you are not doing anything wrong. If they want the status of a special state they should be ready for the special pain which they brought on themselves by supporting the likes of Burhan Vani.

We know you have been tasked to get a pretty painful job done by a Government that has been elected by the majority of the Citizens in India.

We see these posts, these news articles. Yes, we don’t have the time to counter them but THEY DO NOT MOVE US. We are solidly behind you because we know you are doing the job that you have been ultimately tasked to do – defend the Union of India with your utmost might. This is a job that NEEDS to be done and we know the screaming and shouting is a pointer that things are going your way.

Be unwavering and trust us – the majority of the silent Citizens of India. We are quiet now but when the time comes we will vote again for the people who have put their personal selfish needs aside and have stepped up for the country. We have done so in the past and will do it again when the time comes.

God be with you all, we SURELY are!!!

  9. In view of the recent unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, the subsequent protests by supporters of terrorist Burhan Wani and the elite liberals asking the government to order no use of pellet guns, even for defending themselves, I would ask the government to pack these “liberals” with some mosquito-beater bats and some sweets to deal with the innocent terrorist infiltrers, separatist and their innocent supporters in line with the offer made by the Canadian government to their ” bleeding hearts”. They can use the mosquito bats to deflect the terrorists’ bullets.

The “reply” purported to have been written by the Canadian government official to the terrorist sympathisers may be just a figment of imagination of a frustrated ordinary citizen, but it represents a genuine expression of the true feelings of not-so-liberal-elite, ordinary citizens.

    —————————————————————————————–

In the run up to the meeting for justice to Yakub Memon, there were a lot of forward thinking & liberal minded “Intellectuals”, our air-conditioned humanitarian Nationalists who raised a big hue and cry and signed mercy petitions. They should read this response by the Canadian Govt to their own armchair philanthropists on their concerns regarding standards of treatment of captured Terrorists.

    Adopt a Terrorist..!!

The Canadians know how to handle complaints.
    Here is an example.
A Canadian female liberal wrote a lot of letters to the Canadian Government , complaining about the treatment of captive insurgents (terrorists) being held in Afghanistan National Correctional System facilities.
She demanded a response to her letter
    She received the following reply:

    From:
    National Defence Headquarters.
    Pearkes Bldg., 15 NT, 101 Drive, Ottawa , ON K1A 0K2
    Canada.

    Dear Concerned Citizen,

Thank you for your recent letter expressing your profound concern of treatment of the Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorists captured by Canadian Forces, who were subsequently transferred to the Afghanistan Government and are currently being held by Afghan officials in Afghanistan National Correctional System facilities.

Our Administration takes these matters seriously and your opinions were heard loud and clear here in Ottawa. You will be pleased to learn, thanks to the concerns of citizens like yourself… we are creating a new department here at the Department of National Defence, to be called ‘Liberals Accept Responsibility for Killers’ program, or “L.A.R.K.” for short.

In accordance with the guidelines of this new program, we have decided, on a trial basis, to divert several terrorists and place them in homes of concerned and responsible citizens such as yourself… around the country, under those citizens personal care. Your personal detainee has been selected and is scheduled for transportation under heavily armed guard to your residence in Toronto next Monday.

Ali Mohammed Ahmed bin Mahmud is your detainee, and is to be cared for pursuant to the standards you personally demanded in your letter of complaint. You will be pleased to know that we will conduct weekly inspections to ensure that your standards of care for Ahmed are commensurate with your recommendations.

Although Ahmed is a sociopath and extremely violent, we hope that your sensitivity to what you described as his ‘attitudinal problem’ will help him overcome those character flaws. Perhaps you are correct in describing these problems as mere ‘cultural differences’. We understand that you plan to offer ‘counselling and home schooling’, however, we strongly recommend that you hire some assistant caretakers.

Please advise any Jewish friends, neighbours or relatives about your house guest, as he might get agitated or even violent, but we are sure you can ‘reason’ with him. He is also expert at making a wide variety of explosive devices from common household products, so you may wish to keep those items locked up, unless in your opinion, this might ‘offend him and his sensibilities’. Your adopted terrorist is extremely proficient in hand-to-hand combat and can extinguish human life with such simple items as a pencil or nail clippers. We advise that you do not ask him to demonstrate these skills either in your home or wherever you choose to take him while ‘helping him adjust to life in our country’.

Ahmed will not wish to interact with you or your daughters except sexually… since he views females as a form of property, thereby having no rights, including refusal of his sexual demands. This is a particularly sensitive subject for him.

You also should know that he has shown violent tendencies around women who fail to comply with the dress code that he will recommend as more appropriate attire. I’m sure you will come to enjoy the anonymity offered by the burka over time. Just remember that it is all part of ‘respecting his culture and religious beliefs’ as described in your letter.

You take good care of Ahmed and remember that we will try to have a counsellor available to help you over any difficulties you encounter while Ahmed is adjusting to Canadian culture.

Thanks again for your concern. We truly appreciate it when folks like you keep us informed of the “PROPER WAY TO DO OUR JOB AND CARE FOR OUR FELLOW MAN”.

Good luck and God bless you (and your daughters)

Impeccable strategy, I must say. They use social media to “mock” us? But do we revert back on the same platform? Don’t we also need to show & communicate, how we, the forces, aren’t just limited to weaponry but also had been a foundation block of so many success stories of Kashmir. False charges don’t deter Army, they encourage forces to fight back harder. However this time its not Josh & Hosh..its Hosh with josh

  14. Dear Mr.Capt.Arya,

I want to write you back here.I am from Kashmir and a common man born and brought up in Kashmir. Please do not link up me with terrorism or any political or non political party. As per your experience in Indian Army was a short period of time. Now,your are retired at a very young age.I have not grown up in the shadows of Chinar,I have grown up in the shadows of Guns and Ammunition. That’s an unfortunate part of all lives whosoever is living in KASHMIR-Unfortunate State which is Caught in the Crossfire from the last 6 decades. I don’t blame you .No,because you are a part of that system. You are a trained Army Officer and you also equally signed your profession up to death like you said in your Open Letter to Burhan Wani. Well death is a part of life and everyone has to taste it sooner or later.

You always spoke about Hurryat leaders and their well settled children’s in foreign countries on various shows.Let me clear your on this ? Mr.Geelani is almost 70-75 years of age,why would he chosen Kashmir like place to live by leaving all the luxuries of life.He could have been settled abroad like if you know Mr.Hashim Qureshi(1970,Former JKLF) activist who is living a very decent life in Holland along with family and still he is enjoying all the luxuries. So what’s the big deal studying abroad or getting settled in a foreign country? Mahtma Gandhi studied law London College,Dr.Ambedkar in Columbia University,Jawahar Lal Nehru at Cambridge University,The dresses that were adorned by the Nehru family also reflected English style. After some formal education at home, Jawaharlal Nehru also went to a local convent school in Allahabad. At the age of fifteen, he went to England to study at Harrow.Indira Gandhi-She studied in International School of Geneva,Switzerland,University Of Oxford,Badminton School London. Madan lal Dhinga a Mechanical Engineer studied in England,Lal Hydaryal,Usha Mehta whp strudied on Government Scholarship.

Usha Mehta Freedom Struggle a eight-year-old Usha participated in a protest march against the Simon Commission and shouted her first words of protest against the British Raj: “Simon Go Back.” She and other children participated in early morning protests against the British Raj and picketing in front of liquor shops. During one of these protests marches, the policemen charged the children, and a girl carrying the Indian flag fell down along with the flag. Angry at this incident, the children took the story to their parents. The elders responded by dressing up the children in the colors of the Indian flag (saffron, white and green) and sending them out in the streets a few days later. Dressed in the colors of the flag, the children marched again, shouting: “Policemen, you can wield your sticks and your batons, but you cannot bring down our flag.”

I want to ask you few questions here. What is the difference in between Indian Freedom Struggle and the present scenario in Kashmir? What’s got Kashmir so angry? ‘Do you need 700,000 soldiers to fight 150 militants? Why does Kashmir want freedom ? Why,many in Kashmir continue to express their love for Pakistan? As a Kashmir we don’t hate Indian People and our religion doesn’t allow us to HATE anybody. We hate only Indian policies and their cold behavior towards the Kashmiri people.

There is thin line where we are living now not like any other metropolitan city or village of India where you are not under the control of another. The difference is only you are living under the shades of tri- color and we are living under the arms and ammunition. Ah! Don’t get me wrong, whatever i speak I speak by heart whether you like it or not doesn’t matter, because for everyone on the other side truth is always bitter. You also mentioned in your write ups the word “Jihad” Well let me clear you on this The Arabic word “jihad” is often translated as “holy war,” but in a purely linguistic sense, the word ” jihad” means struggling or striving. If military jihad is required to protect the faith against others, it can be performed using anything from legal, diplomatic and economic to political means. If there is no peaceful alternative, Islam also allows the use of force, but there are strict rules of engagement. Innocents – such as women, children, or invalids – must never be harmed, and any peaceful overtures from the enemy must be accepted.

Well that is another chapter, lets come back to Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir has been one of the most misunderstood states of the country. There are a lot of myths about J&K most of which have been created by media. Being born and brought up here, let me clarify some of these myths: –

There’s a gun in every house ? Yes, we do have a gun in almost every house.Toy guns, if they count as guns. Our kids play with them and so do YOURS. We don’t actually have a real gun. Holding unlicensed arms and ammunition is as much illegal in J&K as it is in rest of the country. We are as normal and peaceful as you are. The only thing you will find in every house is a Kangri. –

Militant attacks happen everyday? People think that citizens of J&K must have witnessed many militant attacks. They think Jammu and Kashmir is the most dangerous place to be. And there are militants roaming freely on the roads. Sorry to break your bubble but NO. The actual city roads are perfectly safe and see a peaceful life most of the times. Army encounters do happen but rarely in the city. Things like this happen in the border areas. Honestly, Kashmiris are more scared of army than militants. –

Is it safe to travel Kashmir ? Yes,It is we are accommodating more than 8 lakh Indian and Foreign tourists every year and each year we receive more than 70,000 Hindu’s every year open heatedly. We are very humble and hospitable.

Kashmiris are illiterate that’s why they are taking guns ? Why would you think like that? Don’t you know twitter’s political head, Raheel Khurshid, is a Kashmiri? Have you forgotten the 2009 IAS topper Shah faesal,IPS officer Ruveda Salam,? Don’t fool yourself into believing that we are illiterate and don’t understand English. Our literacy rate is much higher than Gujrat.

There are only Muslims in Kashmir ? Yes, the majority of population is Muslim but Kashmir also has Hindus, Sikh, Christians, who live in close communion with each other. We’re a ‘one for all and all for one’ people. Also, children hardly study in madrassas. We have Islamic and missionary schools in large numbers as well as other schools.

Kashmir is economically backward and their are no jobs ? Well,Kashmir is very much rich in natural resources.Alphabetically, the state is absolutely rich in the following minerals- arsenic ores, bauxite, borax, coal, gold, gypsum, lignite, limestone, manganese, marble, and sapphire. In 15 Years, NHPC Earned Rs 194 Billion from the J&K Hydel Power Projects dedicated to GOI free of cost. That’s a secondary question that every home in Kashmir carries a lantern or a candle. If everything is right, then where is the GAP? We are living with India since 1947,Is India failing to win minds and hearts in Kashmir over a period of 60 years of accession.India had never won the hearts and minds of People that’s a bitter truth and that’s the reason people are looking for some other inhibitions.

When India talks with Kashmiries? When their is some kind of unrest India finds the best opportunity for talks.Could this be the right time to hold talks with the Kashmiries to resolve the Kashmir crisis? And do Indian authorities agree? When we talk we should talk with Kashmiries,a common MAN,not with the separatists, civil societies or paid Movies..

I am extremely sorry if i have written anything wrong.A true Indian is not the one who chant “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” or ‘Jai Ho” “Mera Desh Mahan” like slogans. It should be in our hearts.Nation is not recognized by its roads, bridges, buildings and architecture. Its recognized by its PEOPLE. The moral of the story is “Injustice” and “Infinite Injustice” Shopian rapes and murders will be memorable for a long time to come, simply for what they signify. The heinous crimes that shocked and rocked the entire Valley, disrupting and changing the face of Shopian, will not only be remembered for the human tragedy that it is. They will also be remembered for the denial of justice, for cover-up, conspiracy and for the prevalence of pattern of impunity, making Shopian a part of the ugly fabric of human rights crisis in Jammu and Kashmir but also a test case which so badly symbolizes everything that is wrong with institutions of justice in Jammu and Kashmir. Why Kashmir is so angry? Well,Major there are lot of stories behind ” Injustice begets Violence and Violence begets more of both. Violence begets Violence and Hate begets hate.Which is dangerous for any society.

And this is not the fight between Pakistan and India now, it’s a fight between own citizens so it means something is wrong somewhere?

I would love to see your next Blog on Human Relations and human treatment with Kashmiries!!

My issue is with Pakistan. You have more information on Kashmir than me…I accept that. But with respect, I have far more information on Pakistan Army and ISI and what they are doing in Kashmir.

You say that you are a citizen of India. That is the only thing I want to hear. Kashmir is a part of India. Kashmiris are our brothers. We have committed many mistakes and must rectify them. As long as the integrity of India is not under attack, we are willing to talk on everything.

  16. Mr. Peerzada, if I may comment on your note. I am sorry for the delay but I’ve been busy – life and so on… I write this comment as an Indian citizen, one who feels for all my fellow Kashmiri citizens; brothers and sisters. I have not served in the forces but have some idea about them which is why I thought I’d write this.

    > This is the reason If No Human Rights ,No AFSPA …Then Why India ?
    > Give me a single reason You are a Peacemaker of the Nation?
There is a reason why AFSPA is put in a disturbed area. It is not used everywhere but on completely an exception basis. In the case of Kashmir (not J&K but just the Kashmir Valley), the AFSPA has been put because there is an armed militancy in place that is beyond the capability of the Police and force needs to be used. In all cases, using force against our own citizens is difficult for the Police/Army and they try to do their best to be as judicious as possible.

In this particular case, armed militancy has been funded by an external actor (Pakistan) on a continuous basis over many decades.

    > How can you say No Human Rights just keep killing ? this is what you are doing
    > in Kashmir ! I am sorry I don’t believe in you in human ideology. You can handle the media but you cant
    > handle the sufferings and innocent killings. What is the difference between a Soldier and a Militant in

Normally it is the Police who handle Law and order in the country. They know when to use a soft touch and when to go hard because they are taught how to handle civilian law and order. The army is called out only in when there is a threat to the unity of the country or to face an external aggressor. They are trained to be hard and have no softness.

Unfortunately, the situation in the Valley (Mind you, what is happening is true ONLY for the Kashmir valley and NOT to Jammu or Ladakh) is because there are armed terrorists there who are hell bent in killing and creating mayhem. Do you realize how many have been killed by the terrorists? The majority of the killings by the terrorists have been the local Muslims there. Have we forgotten how the minorities of the Valley, especially the Kashmiri Pandits have been systematically targeted. Why do we forgive the terrorists for killing the locals and not forgive the Police/Army – because the Police/Army are an easy target is it? Target the militant and either you or your family will surely get killed.

Apologies for being blunt, but the insurrection in Kashmir has been fueled by Sunni Terrorists across the border steeped in the Wahabi philosophy – a philosophy that is at odds to the Sufi philosophy of the valley. Even the Shias do not subscribe to Azadi as it is being painted (Yes, I’ve talked to people there). Have you guys thought what would happen if the Wahabist philosophy is applied to Kashmir? The first thing is the rest of Kashmir (Jammu, Ladakh) will break away – heck, Ladakh is already asking for UT status.

Yes, the misguided youth need the soft touch but look at what the pakistani intruders do. They come out of a crowd, throw a grenade / fire a burst from an AK-47 and then vanish. What would you have the Army to do. Heck, what would YOU do if people randomly popped out and shot at the civil populace. To get an idea – look at how the Muslims are being targeted in the US, in China – is it fair, no but that is happening today as a result of a few. Let me ask you, you do not like the response of the police, why do you (the common citizen living in Srinagar) not stop the terrorists – you collectively take a stand against them and they will be caught before they can cause any damage. Militancy will end, Kashmir will be paradise again.

Let me take the example of the pellet Injuries in the recent ongoing riots. Why were so many people suddenly injured in their eyes/faces – this hadn’t happened before. What has been happening is that the agitators very calculatedly have pushed women and children in front and have thrown stones from behind. They also tried targeting small pickets with the intention of killing them and the police/soldiers had to fire in self defense. Have we forgotten the fact that one policeman (a brother policeman of your father) was drowned because he was caught. What would you have your people, the people there to protect you do – stand still and die?

    > this country? What is Nationalism? For me 30 Terrorists are sitting in Indian Parliament those who are
    > involved in different criminal cases, murder and rape cases. For me Militant the also one who is looting our
    > hard earned money?

Please let’s not change the discussion here – the discussion here is about Kashmir and not about our politicians. We all agree our politicians are corrupt and diseased. That is a different battle, a battle of the ballot. We shame them and we throw them out. This takes time, but over time Indian polity gets better. Of course, I hate the corrupt leaders and I will settle with them the next time the elections come around, I will campaign against them and vote against them. I will make my voice heard.
