THE FIFTH COLUMN

A few days back (October 2016), the Pakistani Parliament (Senate) published a report titled “Policy Guidelines In View Of The Latest Situation Developing Between India And Pakistan”. The report was unanimously accepted. A copy of the original report is attached.

Amongst other things, the report calls for exploiting fault-lines within India. What are these fault lines?

Pakistan will further widen the chasm between Hindus and Muslims and will actively encourage conflict between the two communities. It plans to arm Naxalites and kick-start the Khalistan movement again. It even plans to add fuel to the fire in the Cauvery water dispute and exploit the Dalit issue. The aim is to create mass disruption in India through subversion, deception and deceit.

Pakistan’s intelligence agencies will align with political parties in India and form an anti-Modi alliance. All this and more has been discussed in Pakistan’s Senate. This is the immediate danger India is faced with. It is very easy to spark a riot in India. Or create political unrest. Sometimes, all it takes is a rumor. Pakistan knows this.

And this is why the Shiv Sena must desist from its poisonous demagoguery and hate mongering. You cannot force Nawazuddin Siddiqui out of a Ram Lila. The smaller matter is that it is illegal. The much larger matter is that it plays into Pakistan’s designs. An almost strategically insignificant incident (though totally abhorrent) can assume national security dimensions.

Pakistan will say that if this can happen to Nawazuddin who is a star, imagine what the common Muslim must be going through. That the common Muslim in India is leading a normal life will soon be a side story. The focus will on discrimination. This is war by other means.

Owaisi may be thinking that he is the new messiah of the Muslims. Actually, he is a messiah of the absurd. The poison that he feeds his mostly illiterate followers is leading them to oblivion. He is like a shepherd that kills his own flock, feeding them the poison of insecurity, hate and perceived victimhood.

Coming back to the Pakistani Senate report, we must closely observe what is written and what is not. What is not written is more important.

Pakistan has hundreds of sleeper cells in India. Not just Muslims, but people of other faiths actively help these sleeper cells, too. Some do it for money, others for ideology. Both are an immediate danger.

Pakistan has given up hope of defeating India in a conventional war. Supporting Jihadis is lucrative but has come under intense international scrutiny and the Jihadi infrastructure has started bleeding Pakistan. This report is Pakistan’s last great hope; create fissures inside India, thereby gently pushing India to collapse under its own weight.

Pakistan’s ISI will indirectly align with political parties to cause unrest and also target Modi. The ISI’s plan is to create an umbrella group, which will bring some political parties, severely critical of the ruling BJP, under one roof.

The Senate Report is just a formalization of what the ISI has already been doing for some time.

Let me be explicitly clear. I am not pointing out to any particular party or parties, but once you read the Pakistani Senate report, take your mind back to the past few weeks (whatever has happened in India) and you will have a clear idea of what is going on.

The recently cacophony in India is not organic. Pakistan is activating the fifth column.

  1. Major, hope all is well. Had a question, sorry it’s a bit out of topic here, but it’s right up your alley and I have never been able to get this thought out of my system, so your opinion would ,as always, be greatly appreciated. The movie LOC Kargil claims to be factually closest to true and there is a mention about how we could reduce loss of lives if Army would be allowed to breach Line of Control-from a 10 :1 disadvantageous position to a better chance. Is it true, Major? If Army was allowed to cross LOC and cut off the enemy would that have given you guys a better edge? My question is not about the economical or political implications that might or might not have been, just weather such an option did exist and if it did would it have helped reduce loss at our end? I know it is revisiting that which cannot be reversed , but I really just want to know.. Hope to hear from you, TC

    1. Ma’am, crossing the LoC gives you flexibility and a solid psychological advantage. If the enemy knows that he can cross the LoC but you can’t, he will always have the upper edge.

As far as MOD M (modification mountain) and the ratio of 9:1 is concerned, that is true. In mountainous terrain, the one occupying heights has a major advantage. The attacking troops will always have to carry more manpower because there will be tremendous loss of life and very few will be able to reach the objective and fight the enemy.

  2. Thanks for this article Major Gaurav, I would like to mention few words about the following line.

‘Pakistan will further widen the chasm between Hindus and Muslims’

After 70 years of Independence, Pakistan has literally achieved nothing apart from sponsoring terror groups, trying to harm India and failing over and over again.

Pakistan’s hate material towards Indians comes from their text books. Right from the childhood, their schools spread hate material about ancient Indian culture directly or indirectly in different contexts. I was curious to know the roots of this hatred and terrorism from this country and when I did some research on this we can undoubtedly infer that they start preaching hatred from their Universities and text books. Thus it is foolish for us to really think that we can change with words them and have peace talks. This is next to impossible. Because we cannot eradicate something that has roots so deep. As you rightly mentioned in one of your speeches Major Gaurav, terrorism on the soil of Pakistan is like grass which keeps growing at our backyard. If you cut it regularly, it behaves itself.
Now if we look at how Indians are being brought up in this context, we are always taught that ‘All Indians are our brothers and sisters’, ‘Hindu Muslim bhai bhai’ etc. We never spread hatred. India is a land which spreads love and appreciates talent, irrespective of their religion, caste or creed. That is why we adore Mohammad Rafi and Kishore Kumar equally. We love and respect Dr. Abdul Kalam, St. Mother Theresa, Swami Vivekananda irrespective of where they come from. In every field in India, we have people from every religion equally participating. There might be many political exceptions and corrections to be made in the country as a whole, but that does not pertain to any religion.
We Indians cannot become ‘prey’ to these kind of tricks played by any country and we should stay united at this time. Every Indian should go back to the times when entire country fought together for the freedom of our country.
We should clearly understand that our fight is against the terror coming from our neighbour and not to isolate any religion. We were together and will be together.
Having said that you cannot take this liberty and use ‘freedom of speech’ as a weapon to stay inside India and talk against the interests of the country. You cannot get away with this whether you are a Karan or Khan. (religion does not play a role here and people should understand this.)

  3. Only solution is all shall follow common civil codes and no quota no reservation on anything except for physically challenged and heirs of state martyrs.
This way there should be one education system across the country. Whether rich or poor must have syllabus. No school should teach about history of India which is a corrupt version inserted by Britishers and multi fathered sons of indian national congress.
